Short Contracting founding member Nick Short comes from a rural background in Hawkes Bay and has resided in Gisborne, East Coast of the North Island for the last 35 years. At its inception Short Contracting focused a lot of their resources toward Town and Rural Fencing.

Nick’s clientele has grown substantially from farming days to now being recognised as not only a supplier and installer of exact fencing but has also aligned themselves with ‘XFence’ a high quality Security Fencing system which Nick along with his team of certified professionals conduct as agents for the highly sort after fencing product in the Poverty Bay region, which fetches far further these days covering from Cambridge down to the depths of the North Island.

Always looking to expand Nick has now applied his complete background in fencing solutions to Civil Works namely the construction of large ‘Gabion’ baskets used for roadside retaining walls, guard railing and walk/cycle way construction. This area of business has allowed Short Contracting opportunity to further their advancement and adapt to the ever increasing body of work New Zealand families and businesses require services of.

Nick has always undertaken a Health and Safety Plan for all contracting employees and has been a proud member of the Site Safe Organisation which continues to push the barrow on workplace Safety and Health.
